Video: Cop Out Trailer

Cop Out
Cop Out
Over the years this blog has changed course a few times, but it will always remain true to it’s roots when it comes to stuff like this…

This trailer has been up on YouTube for a bit now, but I had to include it somewhere on the blog, then I remembered that this little site had it’s humble beginnings worshipping the man, the God, the Geek that is Kevin Smith.

Cop Out sees a major shift in the movies that we’re used to seeing from Kevin Smith, a buddy cop flick is definitely not in line with previous efforts in the least. However, I for one am waiting with baited breath and can’t wait for it to arrive here. With the change in direction I’m sure it will get it’s fair share of haters, but as I haven’t watched a film of his that I didn’t like – I won’t be one of them. Plus I have this uncanny ability to like this dude’s stuff no matter what… And yes, I loved Jersey Girl, hand-on-heart.

The film, originally titled A Couple of Dicks, has the tagline: Rock Out With Your Glock Out – Typical Moves,

is a cop-comedy about a veteran NYPD cop whose rare baseball card is stolen. Since it’s his only hope to pay for his daughter’s upcoming wedding, he recruits his partner to track down the thief, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster. [from IMDB]

If you’re interested in all things Silent Bob then it’s not hard to find him on the internet. He is a major nerd when it comes to blogging, tweeting and various other forms of interwub interaction. The best place to start is probably his personal online diary – My Boring Ass Life – which hasn’t been all that boring in the last month as you’ll see if you go and read it…

Kind of a strange week thus far.
Monday’s medical sessions combined with the lack of sleep over the weekend made Tuesday and Wednesday a complete nightmare.
I did get a lot done though, my c.v. is now officially up-to-date, I’ve posted it on various sites and had some positive responses too, ironically though, two job offers from Galileo… go figure… I have declined to reply to these offers as my c.v. does state that I’d prefer working in Sweden, not Langley (it’s Slough, you know it is.). Although, the jobs did seem quite interesting and I’m keeping my options open. What I don’t want to do is start the whole ‘career’ thing again and lose track on my writing. Still, the Jobbcentrum has been quite useful so far in the respect of getting my c.v. sorted. As far as anything else they offer, I’m yet to see the benefit.

Anyway, as I said… Monday I went to see my Doctor who, being as much use as a turd in a lager, didn’t listen to anything I said. Add to that that Monday morning I didn’t seem to have a back ache and my hands weren’t swollen as they usually are – typical.
I requested new pain killers, sighting that the ones I’m on are cause havoc to my regularity but this request fell on deaf ears. I now have a dreaded fear of anal fissures.

The social did me a favour by putting 530:- kr in my account for bus travel. So yesterday after my day at Jobbcentrum I bought myself a monthly travel card (not interesting, I know, but this is leading somewhere…), then headed into the pharmacy to pick up my pain killers. On receiving my bag of drugs I notice that my Doc had supplied me with some new sleeping pills, bless him. This meant that Wednesday night would be a floating into bed experience for a solid nights sleep for the first time in weeks… something to look forward to. The reality was that I made myself a light dinner, watched a film about zombie sheep and headed for bed early with a book. At around 23:00 I killed the lights …

… Bird song wakes me gently, I turn over in bed, realise that I have excruciating pain in my thoracic area but manage to pull myself out of the pit and stagger to the kitchen for a glass of water. Whilst running the tap waiting for the water to chill, I look at the time and see that it’s 11:30 …
It takes a few seconds for this to sink in and then it hits me and I realise what’s what. On checking my alarm clock I see that it’s still set for 07:00, so I must have either turned it off or slept through it.
Trying to think of a decent excuse for not turning up to the Jobbcentrum today is going to be tough… I can’t exactly say, “I was asleep” can I?
At my physio appointment I tell Fredrik about my day thus far, he thinks it’s funny and doesn’t think that there will be any sort of back lash. I have a different feeling in my gut.
On getting home I make a strong coffee in a pitiful attempt to try and wake myself up a bit… it’s not working. My body and mind is in a state of complete exhaustion, this is either due to my lack of sleep, too much sleep or it’s sleeping pill hangover… either way, I’m done for the day…

Mewesing …

If you keep up on celebrity gossip, then you’re probably aware of the recent ‘trashing’ Kevin Smith recieved for comments he made concerning Jason Mewes and Nicole Richie. Kev then used his blog to try and set the record straight (Mewes, Nicole Richie, and me and my big mouth), which didn’t really work. Not that the dude cares, and why should he? It’s not as if he’s telling lies or besmurching some clean cut ‘Lady’ here right? Anyway, this seems to have inspired him to start possible four part story outlining Mewes’ back story – including his addiction to heroin. The first entry Me and My Shadow, Pt. 1 appeared yesterday (28th March). Check it out, learn shit … Nootch!

I wake up at 3 a.m., quite happy that I’ve actually had a really long sleep, but a bit pissed off that I couldn’t snooze for longer. I attempt to try and recapture slumber land, but it doesn’t happen. So with a hankering for tea and any form of sports I put the kettle on and watch the Lakers/Pacers game on NASN. At about 6 a.m., I decide that some breakfast is in order, so I cook up some eggs and drink some more tea.

After catching up on the blog, I take a look on the web for some whisky sites to give Fredrik some info for Wednesday. I find a great site called ‘The Whisky Exchange’ that delivers all over Europe … might have to check it out, I found a bottle of JD for £900 !!!

I remember that the Clerks 2 teaser is supposed to premier on all View Askew sites today, so I hit clerks2.com to check it out. Man, talk about a teaser … I mean, we have to wait until August for this flick, watching this is a form of torture!
The genius that is Kevin Smith has also put many ‘making of’ shorts on the site, check them out, they’re superb, especially the one with Quentin and Rodriguez … those three dudes in one place at the same time chatting about Clerks … it’s a movie geek’s wet dream …

I make a go of clearing up the office a bit, but it doesn’t take long before I lose interest. Instead I start backing up Lucifer as I’ve been having a few issues with it. After backing it up I attempt to repair the file system structure but for some unknown reason the blasted machine won’t boot from the CD. No matter what I try it won’t have it and I waste pretty much all day trying to sort the flipping thing out.
After giving up on Lucifer I notice that all the work I’ve done on Legion has been messed up for another unknown reason. It’s gone 10 p.m. when I realise that I’ve been spending all day working on nothing much at all. I stick the TV on and watch Celebrity Big Brother when Janne calls. We chat about films for a bit and then when the batteries run out on the phone I hang up and make a cuppa.

Battlestar Gallactica’s second season starts tonight. I’ve actually got the first 10 or so episodes on disc, but haven’t seen them; so I make some coffee and settle down in the sofa to watch the opening episode.
